GRAND NIAGARA GOLF CLUB - ROAD CLOSURE NOTIFICATION

The road closure is from Monday, June 26, 2023 until Friday, September 29, 2023 The section to be closed is from Lyons Creek Road/Biggar Road to Grassy Brook Road

We have been advised that with this closure using a GPS will result in getting lost, please ensure you left yourself plenty of time. 

Please follow the BELOW directions to Grand Niagara Golf Club

FROM TORONTO

  • Highway 401 towards Niagara.
  • Highway 427 South to Q.E.W.
  • Stay on QEW towards Fort Erie.
  • Take the McLeod Road exit to stop lights, proceed directly through the stop lights to the next set of stop lights which is Montrose Road
  • Turn left on Montrose Road and continue on Montrose Rd for 3 km until you see the entrance to Grand Niagara GC
  • Turn right on Grassy Brook Rd (this will be just prior to the road closure).

CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE

FORMAT

36-hole stroke play competition

 

PLAYOFFS

The Championship tie will be decided by a “sudden victory” playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Any competitor involved in a playoff and not immediately available assumes the last playoff position.

 

SKINS

Skins will be conducted using the following guidelines - $20 per round.

 

AT THE RANGE

The range on the property will be open and balls will be stacked.

 

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT

  • A two cart per group rule is in effect.
  • Competitors may walk or make arrangements with the host club for the use of a motorized golf cart.
  • Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.
  • Players can purchase carts in the shop for $22.00 plus tax per rider.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds can be made by calling the pro shop at (905) 384-4653. For practice rounds, please speak with John Sharpe or Caleb Ellis - $75 per (plus tax) - includes golf, cart, and range - no restrictions. Guests - $85 per (plus tax) - includes golf, cart, range - no restrictions.

 

CADDIES

Caddies are welcome.

 

SPECTATORS

Spectators are welcome and MUST walk.

 

EVENT DETAILS

Prize presentation following play on day 2.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

    Food and beverage will not be offered as part of the event.

 

DRESS CODE

Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package.

 

**Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. Open-toed footwear, (sandals of any type/flip flop style footwear) will not be permitted into host venue Clubhouses prior to or upon completion of any Ontario Zone sanctioned round.

MEASURING DEVICES A player may obtain distance information by using a device that: MEASURES DISTANCE ONLY However, if a distance measuring device has additional functionality that can gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. elevation change, wind speed, etc.), the use of any such additional function would be a breach of Rule 4.3a.

ELECTRONIC AUDIO OR VIDEO DEVICES During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device. Rule 4.3 Penalty for Breach of Rule 4.3

  • Penalty for first breach from single act or related acts: Two Strokes
  • Penalty for second breach unrelated to first breach: Disqualification

ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY

Stroke Play Event Alcohol Policy

  • The consumption of alcohol before or during any PGA of Ontario stroke play event or Playing Ability Test is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy is considered conduct unbecoming of a Member of the PGA of Ontario, and swift penalty will be issued by the Tournament Captain and PGA of Ontario office.

Team Event Alcohol Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will allow the purchase of alcohol from the host facility during team events only. This policy will be reviewed following each event and if any issues arise (including, but not limited to, professional conduct, alcohol abuse, or liability), this policy will be revoked immediately. Penalties will be issued based on any Professional violating Liquor Laws, our Tournament Policy and/or the  PGA Code of Professional Conduct and Safe Sport Policy.

Drug Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will abide by each facility's drug policy.
