POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.

FORMAT:

Teams were placed at random into two groups, with one group containing Four Teams and one group containing Five Teams. The Group of Four Teams will play the 16-point game and the Group of Five will play the 25-point game, as outlined in the 2022 Scratch League Manual. The top teams from each group will advance to the 2022 California Scratch League Championship, to be held on Monday, November 28th at Classic Club in Palm Desert, CA.

The November 7th Handicap Index will be used to order lineups, with Professionals playing in the 1st slot. If the team does not have a professional, the team will be ordered by Handicap Index with the lowest index player competing in the 1st slot. Lineups must be submitted to champs@scga.org no later than Sunday, November 13th.

GROUPINGS:

Group 1: Bear Creek, La Costa, Rustic Canyon, Virginia

Group 2: Industry Hills, Oakmont, Rancho Park, Redlands, Santa Ana

REGISTRATION:

All Team Captains must check-in at the SCGA registration table prior to their starting time. Players will check in to the Golf Shop to obtain their golf carts and driving range balls.

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:

  • Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 9:40 a.m. Group 1 tee times will range from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and Group 2 tee times will range from 8:40-9:40 a.m.
  • Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.

TEES & YARDAGE:

Play will be from the BLACK yardage. Hole-by-hole yardage can be found in the "Yardage Information" section in the Scratch League Championship tab.

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Practice rounds may be arranged at the player's expense by contacting the Golf Shop at 805-343-9459. The SCGA and Monarch Dunes GC ask that practice rounds only be limited to those team members who will be participating in the Championship match.
  • For practice rounds on the day prior to the competition (11/16), Monarch Dunes will offer a special rate of $95 for practice rounds before 12 p.m. and $62 for rounds after 12 p.m.  Both rates include carts. All practice rounds outside of the timeframes listed above will be at regular rate.
  • For PGA rates, club professionals are to contact the Golf Shop and ask for Rory Doll.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.
