Terms of the Competition

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership:  Be a member of the TCGA, defined as either (1) belonging to a TCGA member club or (2) residing in one of the following counties: Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga, Bradford (PA), or Susquehanna (PA).
  • Age: To compete in the Senior Division, players must be at least 50 years old as of July 15, 2022. Otherwise, there are no additional age requirements.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Entry Fee (Includes Green Fees, Carts, Prizes, and Awards):
    • TCGA Amateur - $120* (Additional $20 cart fee paid on-site for players who advance to Binghamton Country Club)
    • TCGA Senior Amateur -$100*                                                                                                 
    • *Entries who are members at the Links at Hiawatha Landing or Conklin Players Club may contact their home club directly for greens fee reimbursement following tournament play.
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (5PM EST on Tuesday, July 12, 2022). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $10 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws prior to the close of entries. No refunds are given after this time.

CHAMPIONSHIPS, SCHEDULE, AND FORMAT

  • Harding Brooks Insurance TCGA Amateur Championship (Open Division) - Stroke Play, 54 Holes
    • Friday, July 15 // Round 1 // Conklin Players Club // Tee times starting at 11:45 AM
    • Cut: There is a first round cut for both divisions for anyone outside of 25 shots of the Round 1 Leader for pace of play considerations.
    • Saturday, July 16 // Round 2 // The Links at Hiawatha Landing // Tee times starting at 11:00 AM
    • Cut: There is a cut after 36 holes to the top-30 and ties
    • Sunday, July 17 // Round 3 // Binghamton CC // Tee times starting at 11:00 AM
  • Harding Brooks Insurance TCGA Senior Amateur Championship (Senior Division) - Stroke Play, 36 Holes
    • Friday, July 15 // Round 1 // Conklin Players Club // Tee times starting at 11:45 AM
    • Saturday, July 16 // Round 2 // The Links at Hiawatha Landing // Tee times starting at 11:00 AM

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions.

 

PAIRINGS

Players may submit a first round pairing request of "early" or "late". First round tee times begin at 11:45AM - early/late requests will be accomodated as much as is possible with the limited block of tee times available and the high quantity of requests recieved. First round player pairing requests will not be accepted - pairings will be randomized taking into account early/late requests. Timing of second round and third round (open division) pairings will be division and score based and automatically generated.

 

GOLF CARTS

Payment for use of golf carts is included in your entry fee with the exception for BCC outlined above. Players may choose to walk if desired, no discount is provided for players choosing to walk.

 

CADDIES

The use of a caddie is permitted, although groups are limited to 2 carts total.

 

TROPHIES & NYSGA EXEMPTIONS

TCGA Amateur Champion:

  • Hold the TCGA Amateur trophy for a year with their name engraved as the 2022 TCGA Amateur champion 
  • Receive 2022 TCGA Amateur Champion commerative plaque
  • Receive an exemption* into the 2022 NYS Amateur (Onondaga G&CC) and the 2022 NYS Mid-Amateur (Seven Oaks GC)

*Exemptions are only given out if the champion meets eligibility requirements - eligibility requirements include New York State residency or holding membership at an NYSGA Member Club, and for the Mid-Amateur players must be age 25+ by 9/23/22. If the champion is ineligible, the exemption does NOT go to the first eligible player, it would only go to the champion.

TCGA Senior Amateur Champion:

  • Receive 2022 TCGA Senior Amateur Champion commerative plaque

 

PRIZES

Top finishers (based on the number of entrants) will receive prizes as gift certificates from the pro shops of the event's host courses.

Open Division Top finishers will receive Remlik's Player of the Year Points as defined on the TCGA Website: tcgagolf.com
