Super Senior Stroke Play Championship

Terms of the Competition

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership: Players must hold an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index at a 2022 SDGA Member Club or be a member of the NYSGA eClub of Central NY (residence required in SDGA territory).

  • Age (Seniors): Players must be at least 55 years old as of June 20, 2022.

  • Age (Super Seniors): Players must be at least 65 years old as of June 20, 2022.

  • USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index issued through a licensed golf club of no more than 12.0 and 15.0 for the Senior and Super senior divisions, respectively.

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAIT LIST

The field is limited to the first 60 players to apply. After the field limit is reached, players will be placed on a wait list in order by their time of registration.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $120. This includes two rounds with golf, carts and lunch after Tuesday's round, prizes, and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Wednesday, June 15, 2022). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

 

FORMAT

  • Format: The format is 36 holes of individual stroke play (no cut).
  • Yardage: The course will be set up to play approximately 6,000 yards (White Tees) for Seniors and approximately 5,600 (Gold Tees) for Super Seniors.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

Monday, June 20 // Round 1 // Tee times begin at 9:00am-11:30am
Tuesday, June 21 // Round 2 // Tee times begin at 9:00am-11:30am.*
 
*Round 2 tee times are based off score (highest start first).

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds are available at Cortland CC. Prices are as follows: $30 to walk and $50 with a cart. You must be officially entered in the tournament. To book a tee time call the Pro shop at 607-753-8811. Must call ahead for tee time.

 

PLAYER LUNCH ON TUESDAY

A complimentary lunch is provided to players following Tuesday's final round.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's snack bar and restaurant will be open.

 

GOLF CARTS

The golf cart rental fee is included in the entry fee.

 

RANGE

The range balls must be paid for in the pro shop.

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners.

 

PRIZES

Prize cards will be awarded to approximately 1/4 of each division. 

 

SOVIK CUP AND SUPER SENIOR POY POINTS

Based on a full field- Sovik Cup points will be awarded to the top-16 finishers in the Senior division. Super Senior Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top-12 finishers in the Super Senior Player of the Year.
