25th Oregon Public Links Championship

McNary Golf Club

July 9 – 10, 2022

 

 Thank you for your entry into the 25th Oregon Public Links Championship, July 9 - 10, 2021 at McNary Golf Club, Keizer OR.  Enclosed you will find your starting time for the first round on Saturday, July 9th.  Upon the completion of Saturday’s round, the field will be repaired by gross score for the final round, on Sunday’s, July 10th.  Players should expect to receive a text message and/ or email with their starting time for Sunday final round.

Tournament Information and Results: Will all be provided digitally on the OGA’s website or through the Golf Genius App, GGID: 22ORPUBLINX.

 

Practice Round: Players may call McNary (503-393-4653), at any time to make practice round arrangements. Practice rounds are available on a space available basis any time after 11:00 am. Contestants are eligible for one complimentary practice round. Practice rounds are for contestants only and will not be extended to guests, caddies, or family members. You must identify yourself as a Public Links Championship Contestant and show photo id to receive your free practice round. Players who wish to use their practice round are expected to abide by all club rules including pace of play.

Practice Range: The OGA will provide a complimentary bucket of range balls before each round at the Willow Lake Golf Center and Driving Range, 6020 Windsor Island Road
Keizer, Oregon 97303. Willow Lake GC and Driving Range is located near the McNary GC property. However, players should drive there prior to their starting time taking careful consideration to be on time for their round.

 

OGA Hosted Lunch: The OGA will be hosting lunch on Saturday.

 

Cart Reservations: Cart reservations are reserved on a first come first served basis. Please pay the appropriate fee to the pro shop at the time of rental. 

 

Caddies: You may bring your own; McNary will not have caddies available. 

 

Dress Code: Proper attire must be worn at all times.  Proper attire does not include spandex body wear, cutoffs, running shorts, short-shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, or denim of any kind or color, or unkempt clothing of any kind.  Neat and clean pants, skirts, slacks, cords, or appropriately hemmed, tailored shorts no more than 6 inches above the knee (men’s shorts must have a minimum of three pockets) are acceptable, as are sweaters and sweatshirts, golf shirts (men’s must have collars) women’s golf shirts and golf blouses.  Shoes must be worn at all times.  Contestants not in compliance with the OGA Dress Code will be Disqualified from the championship and removed from the golf course.

 

OGA Pace of Play Guidelines: will be in effect during the championship.  OGA Pace of Play guidelines are available at www.oga.org.   Pace of Play guidelines will also be available before each round at the starter’s tent.

Score Posting: will be done by the OGA for each round after the championship has been completed.  The OGA will post each player’s adjusted score to GHIN as a tournament score, for handicapping purposes.

 

Handicaps: The July 7th handicap revision will be used for the Championship. Note the course rating in the course yardage information.

 

Format and Prizes: 36-hole stroke play competition. In case of a tie, a hole-by-hole playoff will determine the gross champion in the Men’s Championship and Women’s Divisions. A tie of two players for the runner up position in the Men’s Championship and Women’s Divisions or either the gross or net champion in the Open Division will result in runner up awards being split and distribution of awards will be decided by lot. However, in the event of a tie of three players or more for the runner up position in any division the USGA recommended scorecard playoff will be used to determine who will receive the runner up awards (Jones Sports Co. product and trophies).

 

Men’s Championship Division: The Public Links title will be awarded to the gross champion and will receive an award from Jones Sports Co. The runner up in this division will also receive an award from Jones Sports Co. Prizes will be awarded to the top gross and net finishers, with more emphasis on gross.

Men’s Open Division: Prizes will be awarded to the top gross and net finishers. The gross and net champions will receive awards from Jones Sports Co.

Women’s Division: Prizes will be awarded to the top gross and net finishers. The runner up in this division will also receive an award from Jones Sports Co.
