2022 RDGA Mid Amateur Championship

ELIGIBILITY: RDGA Members; men, ages 25 and above

START TIMES: Beginning at 8:00 am, both rounds - off No. 1 tee

ENTRY FEE: $200

RDGA HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDANCE for 2022: The RDGA is continuing to promote a safe and healthy environment at each of our tournaments, reminding all golfers to take the necessary precautions and not play if showing any symptoms or if previously exposed to COVID-19 within the prior 7 days. We also recommend following the most up-to-date COVID-19 guidance from New York State, including the points outlined at coronavirus.health.ny.gov. CLICK HERE for more information. In accordance with these guidelines, the RDGA will NOT be requiring players to sign a COVID waiver form prior to each 2022 RDGA Tournament.

FORMAT: The RDGA Mid Amateur Championship features 36 holes of scratch stroke play competition over two days. Tee times begin at 8:00 am - both days off the first tee, paired in threesomes. Players will compete from the Morgan's Crossing Men's Blue Tees (6,648 yards) at par-72, with prizes awarded to the top 1/4 of the field. Ties for first will result in a sudden death playoff to determine the champion.

ABOUT: Now in its 14th year, the RDGA Mid Amateur Championship is open to all male RDGA Members age 25 and over (as of the beginning of each year's tournament). Patterned after the USGA's Mid Amateur, the first RDGA Mid Amateur Championship was held in 2007 as a way to provide a formal competition for local post collegeiate-age amateurs, for whom the game is an avocation, rather than a stepping stone to a professional career. Lunch will be provided, free of charge, to contestants on both days.

The top 5 finishers (plus ties) will receive an exemption into the

2023 RDGA District Championship.
