39th Massachusetts Mid-Amateur Championship

Eligibility:
Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 25th birthday by September 19, 2022 and who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club not exceeding 5.4 (at the time of registration) or have completed their handicap certification.
Entry Procedures:
Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.
Format:
Competition will be in two stages;
1. Sectional Qualifying - 18 Holes at Stroke Play (For all except Exempt entrants).
2. Championship Proper - 54 Holes at Stroke Play
Field:
The Championship Proper field is limited to 120 players (approx.; based on qualifying ties).
Exemptions (Upon receipt of the online registration and fee, the players in the following categories are exempt from Sectional Qualifying); 2022 Mid-Amateur Championship Exemptions
Schedule:
Sectional Qualifying; August 8 – September 8
Championship Proper
Round 1 – September 19 (18 Holes)
Round 2 – September 20 (18 Holes)
***The low 30 scorers and ties after 36-holes will continue play on September 21
Round 3 – September 21 (18 Holes)
Any tie for first place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.
Caddies & Automotive Transportation:
Players may use caddies, pull carts (at the host clubs(s) discretion) and/or automotive transportation during Sectional Qualifying and Championship Proper.
Food & Beverage:
A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on September 19 & 21.
Starting Times:
Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.
Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifier.
Prizes:
The Ted Bishop Cup will be awarded to the Champion. Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.
Trophy:
The Ted Bishop Cup will be presented to the Champion.
Practice Rounds:
Courtesy practice privileges are at the discretion of the host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:
Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
