ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members of all ages. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. For additional information see the VSGA Championship and Tournament Eligibility Guidelines.

ENTRY FEES/DEADLINES

Qualifying

Players competing in one of the first 10 qualifiers (may only compete in one) are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $105 by Monday, May 23, 2022.  The qualifying fee includes the mandatory course fee owed to the host club and $75 of the qualifying fee is applied to the championship entry fee for successful qualifiers. The VSGA will also negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host clubs.

Last Chance Qualifier

Players competing in the Last Chance Qualifier are required to register online by 3:00 pm Thursday, June 16, 2022. The entry fee of $125 includes the course fee at the qualifier and $75 of the qualifying fee is applied to the championship entry fee for successful qualifiers.  The VSGA will also negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

Successful Qualifiers

Those who successfully qualify are required to pay the entry balance of $185 by June 17, 2022 which includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

Exempt Players

Exempt players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $260 by Monday, May 23, 2022. The entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

FORMAT

Qualifying

All non-exempt players must qualify to play in the championship. A player may only compete in one of the first 10 qualifiers and each qualifier will be 18-holes of stroke play. The total number of participants at each qualifier will vary by site and will be filled by lowest Handicap Index as of May 23, 2022. The number of qualifying spots available at each qualifier will be determined based on participation and will be announced on-site.

Championship Proper - 120 Players (includes all qualifiers and exempt players)

June 27-28 – Stroke play qualifying (18 holes per day); the low 32 players advance to match play

June 29 – Rounds One and Two of match play

June 30 – Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches

July 1 – 36-hole match play final

PRIZES

The Champion, Finalist and Semifinalists receive gift certificates and trophies. All match play qualifiers will receive a gift certificate. On-site qualifying medalist(s) will receive a VSGA medal.
