CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct sets out the minimum standards expected during play of the Lytham Trophy.
You must ensure you are familiar with and understand the Code of Conduct and meet these minimal standards at all times.
Breaches of the Code of Conduct include
- Care for the course, for example i. failure to repair pitch marks ii. not raking bunkers iii. not replacing a divot
- Foul and abusive language
- Abuse of clubs or the course for example i. throwing and/or breaking clubs ii. defacing or damaging on-course signage iii. damaging course equipment, tee markers, flagsticks, rakes etc.
- Being disrespectful of other players, referees, spectators or staff.
- Acting in a manner contrary to the spirit of the game of golf
A referee may impose the following penalties
- First breach of code of conduct - a warning
- Second breach - the general penalty
- Subsequent breach or serious misconduct - disqualification
Any warning applied during a round [ including the practice round] will be carried forward for the reminder of that round and other rounds to be played
Any breach of the code of conduct by a player’s caddie will result in the sanction being imposed on the player
Appeal
The player may appeal the imposition of a penalty to the Lytham Trophy committee whose decision shall be final, giving notice of appeal to the recorders before his card is recorded.
