In 1985, Thomas Burnett, Jr. graduated from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. Just 16 years later he would board a flight that would alter the course of American history. That flight, United 93, never hit its target in Washington D.C. thanks to the heroism of Tom and three other passengers that tragic day.
The students of the Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi) business fraternity are privileged to call Tom their brother. As the Twin Cities chapter president, he served his classmates, community, and campus with honor and character. The members of AKPsi attempt to exemplify Tom's leadership and courage on a daily basis. We started the Tom Burnett Charity Golf Tournament in order to honor his story, while bringing those close to him a little closer. Tom loved golf, and that is why we are inviting all of his family, friends, classmates, and colleagues to come support those scholarships that strive to further his legacy.
After the tournament's first nine years, we have raised over $40,000 and brought together over 300 of his friends, family, and fraternity brothers to help. This year we are hoping to continue the success that has brought us to our tenth year. If you would like to be a part of this tournament as a participant, sponsor, or volunteer, please contact the tournament staff.
Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you in September!
Sincerely,
Sidney Enninga
