CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.
FORMAT:
Teams were grouped at random into two groups, with one group containing Four Teams and one group containing Five Teams. The Group of Four Teams will play the 16-point game and the Group of Five will play the 25-point game, as outlined in the 2021 Scratch League Manual. The top teams from each group will advance to the 2021 California Scratch League Championship, to be held on December 8th at The Links at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA.
The November 15th Handicap Index will be used to order lineups, with Professionals playing in the 1st slot. If the team does not have a professional, the team will be ordered by Handicap Index with the lowest index playing in the 1st slot. Lineups must be submitted to champs@scga.org no later than Sunday, November 14th.

Group 1: Santa Ana CC, Soule Park GC, The Farms GC, La Costa
Group 2: Virginia CC, Oakmont CC, Rancho Park GC, Stockdale CC, Soboba Springs GC
REGISTRATION:
All Team Captains must check-in at the SCGA registration table prior to their starting time.
STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:
- Starting times will range from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 10:10 a.m. Group 1 tee times will range from 8-9 a.m. and Group 2 tee times will range from 9:10-10:10 a.m.
- Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
TEES & YARDAGE:
Play will be from the BLACK yardage. Course Rating: 73.1 / Slope: 135 / Approx. 6,810 yards / Par: 71.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Practice rounds may be arranged by contacting the Golf Shop at 805-343-9459.
- For practice rounds on the day prior, Monarch Dunes will offer a special rate of $42 for walking and $59 for riding. This rate is only available for practice rounds on Wednesday November 17th after 11 a.m. All practice rounds outside of the timeframe will be at regular rate.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 7 a.m. on the day of the Championship.
- Range balls will be available on the range, compliments of Monarch Dunes GC and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The Restaurant will be available by 7 a.m.
- Major credit/debit cards and cash will be accepted for all purchases.
RULES OF PLAY:
- Players must familiarize themselves with the SCGA’s COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players that will be emailed to players the day prior to the Championship.

DRESS CODE:
- Players must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes.
- Shirts must be tucked in and hats must be worn forward.
- Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts, and tank tops are prohibited.
TIE-BREAKING:
In case of a tie between two teams at the end of the competition, the teams tied will select two players to play a sudden-death aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Play will be in one group of four using the 16-point game format. After completion of the first playoff hole, the highest point total of both teammates will determine who moves on. If still tied, all players will continue on to an additional sudden-death playoff hole(s).
In case of a tie between three teams at the end competition, the teams tied will select three players to play a sudden-death aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Play will be in three groups of three using the 9-point game format. After completion of the first playoff hole, the highest point total of all three teammates will determine who moves on. If all teams are still tied after the first playoff hole, all players from those teams will continue on to an additional sudden-death playoff hole(s). If two teams are still tied after the first playoff hole (or additional playoff holes), the teams tied will select two players to play the next playoff hole(s) using the 16-point game format.
