56th Connecticut Women's Amateur
July 20-21, 2021 - Race Brook Country Club
ELIGIBILITY: In addition to a player's agreement to abide by the CSGA General Tournament Policies, the following criteria is required:
Female Amateur Golfers Only:
- Holding an active USGA Handicap Index from a CSGA Member Club not exceeding 24.0
- Connecticut Residents must be a bona fide member of a CSGA member club
- Non-residents of Connecticut must be a bona fide member of a CSGA member club
ENTRY DEADLINE: Wednesday, July 7th, 2021
ENTRY FEE: $125 includes lunch on both days of the competition
FORMAT AT CHAMPIONSHIP PROPER: 18-holes of stroke play to be conducted on Tuesday, July 20th and Wednesday, July 21st. Divisional contests will be held in the following categories, field size permitting: Juniors (under 18), Mid-Am (19-49) Seniors (50-59) and Super Seniors (60 and above ). In the case of a tie for the Overall Champion, a hole-by-hole playoff will be conducted immediately following the conclusion of all rounds on Wednesday, July 21st.
TRANSPORTATION AND CADDIES: Players may walk, carry their own bag, utilize a caddie, a push cart or a golf cart for this Championship.
- The cost of a golf cart is not included in the entry fee.
- Cart fees are $25 per person, cash or check only.
- Race Brook C.C. does not have caddies for hire, or push carts available to rent.
- Players must have a valid driver's license to drive the golf cart. A caddie may only share the golf cart with an underage player to drive the cart.
- Players will be asked to pair up in golf carts as there is a two cart maximum per group.
PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds are available on Monday, July 19th after 12:00pm. The cost is $25 per person, cash or check only, and includes a cart. To schedule a practice round, please phone Head Golf Professional Paul Barnsley at (203) 389-9521.
YARDAGE: All contestants will play the same tees at approximately 5665 yards (Green/White combination).
PRIZES: The 56th Connecticut Women's Amateur Champion will have her named engraved on the permanent Women's Amateur trophy and be allowed to keep the permanent trophy in their possession until the 57th Connecticut Women's Amateur is conducted. Low finishers in each division will also receive keepsake trophies in recognition of their accomplishment.
WE ARE THE FIFTY STATE JR. CHAMPIONSHIP: Performance in the Conn. Women's Amateur will be used in the criteria selection for the CT Junior girl invitees to the We Are The Fifty State Jr. Championship. Read about this event in the Player Information section of this tournament portal.
WITHDRAWALS & REFUNDS: Refund less $25.00 administrative fee if requested prior to entry deadline. 50% refund after entry deadline and seven days prior to the event. Within seven days prior to the event there will be no refund.
WITHDRAWALS DURING COMPETITION AND/OR NO CARD POLICY: All players are expected to complete the competition which they start. Acceptable reasons for withdrawal during a competition are physical injury, illness, or an emergency. Poor play is not an acceptable reason for withdrawal. A player who withdraws without an acceptable reason or without notifying CSGA personnel will be subject to suspension from future CSGA competitions. If a player is aware of a possibility of withdrawal (e.g. injury) she should notify the CSGA as soon as possible. All players who start a round must return a scorecard personally to CSGA staff or a CSGA official even if they are officially withdrawing. Players who withdraw also must sign and attest that the hole by hole scores are correct for the fellow-competitor's scorecard they were keeping and return that card to the fellow-competitor or another marker in the group. Players who do not follow this policy will be subject to suspension from future CSGA competitions.
Conditions of Entry: By submitting an entry for any CSGA-administered competition, the contestant understands that their participation is at the sole discretion of the CSGA. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the CSGA staff or Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the CSGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future CSGA-administered competitions. These include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
2) Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
3) Offensive or unbecoming language
4) Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of CSGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
5) Potential endangerment of others
6) Conduct deemed unbecoming
