START TIME: 7:30 a.m. off #1 tee only, every 10 minutes
ENTRY FEE: $190 / two-person team
FIELD SIZE: 124 players; 62 two-person teams

RDGA TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES for 2021: The RDGA will again be providing health and safety guidelines for players to follow when participating in RDGA Tournaments this year, based on New York State COVID-19 guidance as well as best practices being followed by leading golf organizations across the country. FORMAT: The annual RDGA Richard Wood Senior Best Ball features two-person teams playing in traditional Best Ball format. Both players tee off and play each hole individually and record their individual scores. The team then records the one best score on the hole as their team score. The event will feature 4 separate divisions: Men's Championship (Gold Tee, played at scratch), Men's Net (Blue Tee, played at 85% handicap), Women's (Red Tee, played at 85% handicap), and Mixed (Blue & Red Tees, played at 85% handicap). ALL handicaps one week prior to the event will be used.
With RDGA District Championship exemptions being given to the top three teams (and ties) in the Men's Championship Division, this will be your opportunity to qualify for the 2022 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial at the Country Club of Rochester!
ABOUT: The RDGA Richard Wood Senior Best Ball began in 2019, in part as a way to offer casual competition for senior RDGA Members, as well as a tribute to the late Richard Wood, a past RDGA President and long-time volunteer who passed away in 2013. We honor his memory and devotion to golf in Rochester.
The Wood Senior Best Ball is open to ALL amateur golfers - men, ages 55 and above; women, ages 50 and above - with an active WHS GHIN Handicap Index through a Rochester District Golf Association Member Club.
If you've never played in an actual golf tournament before - or if you are a seasoned veteran - this is a fun way to enjoy the RDGA tournament experience!
PLEASE NOTE:
- All players on your team must have an RDGA TM player profile in order to register
- Both players on men's teams need to be age 55 by the date of the event (August 2)
- Both players on women's teams need to be age 50 by the date of the event (August 2)
