ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All teams (four players) are required to pay an entry fee of $340 which includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for the day of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.  A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received in the VSGA office by Monday, May 17, 2021.

FORMAT

18-hole four-person captain's choice competition with gross and net prizes. Each team must consist of at least one female golfer. This event will be played as two separate tournaments, with up to 25 teams playing in the morning and up to 25 teams playing in the afternoon. Each player's handicap will be determined for the host club and the A player will receive 25% of their handicap, the B player will receive 20% of their handicap, the C player will receive 15% of their handicap, and the D player will receive 10% of their handicap to determine the team handicap.  The Handicap Index for the day before the event will be used. The field will be divided into divisions as equally as possible by team handicap.

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The field will be limited to 50 teams (25 per shotgun). If the number of entries exceeds the maximum allowable entrants, the field will be determined by blind draw.  The Committee reserves the right to condense the tournament to one shotgun based on number of entries.

PRIZES

There will be an overall low gross and low net prize which may come from any division in both shotguns. Additional gross and net prizes will be awarded in each division for both shotguns.

DONATIONS

Proceeds from this tournament go to the Spencer-Wilkinson Scholarship Fund, which started in 1996, helps ensure that promising young girls - or simply those who love the game - from Virginia are provided an opportunity to continue their pursuit of higher education at colleges and universities. The cornerstones behind the creating and funding of Spencer-Wilkinson scholarships are Debbie Spencer and Mary Nell Wilkinson. Both played collegiate golf at the College of William & Mary and are longtime supporters of the scholarship foundation.

Those who wish to make an additional contribution to the VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation may do so. Please make checks payable (separate from entry fee) to the Spencer-Wilkinson Fund. If you would like to donate to any other specific area please specify on the check.
