ELIGIBILITY

Any VSGA Member Club may enter a team of six female golfers who have held a GHIN number at that club in 2018, 2019, or 2020; or has played at least 10 rounds at that club by June 1, 2021. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by the VSGA Member Club they will be representing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All teams (six players) are required to pay an entry fee of $1,080 which includes all greens fees, cart fees for the first two days of competition, and lunch for all rounds of the competition. Teams who make it to the final day of the competition must pay the remaining cart fees directly to the host club prior to competing in the final round. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club. A completed, signed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee must be received in the VSGA office by Monday, August 16, 2021.

FORMAT

QUALIFYING
Each club will enter three two-woman sides each day. Each side of two will play an 18-hole qualifying round in a four-ball stroke play format. Ten (10) teams with the lowest team handicap will attempt to qualify for the Championship Flight. Of those ten, the clubs with the four lowest aggregate scores will be placed in the Championship Flight and seeded by aggregate qualifying score. All other clubs will be flighted by team handicap and seeded by aggregate qualifying score.

If all teams do not finish the round (e.g. inclement weather, darkness, etc.) clubs will be flighted by team handicap and seeded by team handicap, if necessary. For example, based on the number of teams that complete the round, some flights may be completed as noted above while others may be determined by team handicap.

MATCH PLAY
Team winners for each flight will be determined by two days of four-ball matches (one point per hole). Team Captains will submit their sides (A, B, C sides by name) by 8 p.m. the  day before by an electronic form.

If any match is unable to finish all 18 holes (e.g. inclement weather, darkness, etc.), all points will be totaled based on the number of holes completed.

Championship Proper

August 31 - Four-ball stroke play qualifying round (18 holes)

• Morning Wave Tee Times: 8:00 a.m. - 9:44 a.m.
• Afternoon Wave Tee Times: 12:30 p.m. - 2:14 p.m.

September 1 - Round one of four-ball match play (teams that lose will not advance to round two of match play)

• Morning Wave Tee Times: 8:00 a.m. - 9:44 a.m.
• Afternoon Wave Tee Times: 12:30 p.m. - 2:14 p.m.

September 2 - Round two of four-ball match play

• Shotgun Start: 9:00 a.m.

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The field will be limited to 24 clubs with the lowest aggregate Handicap Index as of the deadline, except the host club who will be included regardless of aggregate handicap.  A waiting list will be maintained if more than 24 clubs apply.

Clubs may submit an "A" and a "B" team. All "B" team entries will be prioritized by aggregate Handicap Index as of the deadline behind all "A" team entries.

PRIZES

The Champion team will have its name engraved on the Nancy Hollenbeck Memorial Trophy.  The medalist team and all flight winners will receive a prize.
