ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members of all ages. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. For additional information see the VSGA Championship and Tournament Eligibility Guidelines.

ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All participants are required to pay an entry fee of $195 which includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.  A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received in the VSGA Office by Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

FORMAT

36-hole net stroke play competition (18 holes per day). The championship will be divided into the following divisions:

Men Ages 49 & under – All players will play from approximately 6,200-6,400 yards

Men Ages 50-64 – All players will play from approximately 5,900-6,100 yards

Men Ages 65 & Over – All players will play from approximately 5,600-5,800 yards

Women of all ages – Women ages 49 & under that have a Handicap Index of 9.9 or lower will play from approximately 5,600-5,800 yards. All other women will play from approximately 5,200 yards.

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The field will be limited to 24 players in each division (96 players total). Entries will be accepted based upon the order of receipt. Entries received after the field is full or after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list. Alternates will be contacted in the order of receipt of entry if a spot becomes available.

HANDICAP

Each player’s Handicap Index as of September 19, 2021 will be used during the competition. Players will receive 95% of their Course Handicap. The maximum Playing Handicap for all players is 36. The Committee may modify a player’s Playing Handicap before or between rounds of the competition.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the Overall Champion (may come from any division) and division winners. Additional prizes (based on number of entries in each division) will be awarded in each division.
