FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The field will be limited to 120 players. Priority acceptance is given to players ages 25 and over that were exempt into the 2021 VSGA Amateur Championship or State Open of Virginia, played in the 2021 VSGA Amateur Championship or State Open of Virginia, finished in the top 20 of last year’s Mid-Amateur Championship and all past VSGA Mid-Amateur champions. In addition, at least three Fawn Lake CC members are guaranteed spots in the field. The remainder of field will be selected by Handicap Index as of August 30, 2021.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members who will be at least 25 years of age by September 17, 2021. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All participants are required to pay an entry fee of $225. The entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for rounds one and two.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.  A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee must be received in the VSGA Office by Monday, September 13, 2021.

FORMAT

Championship Proper

54-hole stroke play competition (18 holes per day), with 50% of the field making the cut (minimum of 45 players) for the final round. All players making the cut will be placed in an appropriate number of flights for day three, based on 36 hole scores.

PRIZES

The Champion will receive a trophy. Gift certificates will be given to the Champion, overall top finishers and top finishers in each flight (all based on 54 hole scores).
