ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members who will be at least 65 years old by August 23, 2021. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All sides (two players) are required to pay an entry fee of $390. The entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club. A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee must be received in the VSGA Office by Monday, August 16, 2021.

FORMAT

36-hole four-ball stroke play competition (18 holes per day). Players will compete in the following divisions and at the approximate total yardage listed (yardages are subject to change based on weather, course layout/conditions, etc.).

65 and over – 6,100-6,300 yards
70 and over – 5,800-6,000 yards
75 and over – 5,400-5,600 yards

Division eligibility is determined by the youngest player on each side (e.g. If side has a player 70 years of age and a player 65 years of age, that side may only compete in the 65 and over division).

Sides that are eligible for multiple divisions may choose the division in which they would like to compete.

VSGA Player Rankings points will only be awarded to the 65 and over division.

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The field will be comprised of a maximum of 50 sides. If the number of entries exceeds 50 sides by the deadline date, priority acceptance will be given to all past champions and the top 10 sides from the previous year.  The remainder of the field will be selected by using the lowest combined handicap of side members.

PRIZES

The Champions will receive trophies and gift certificates. Gift certificates will be awarded to additional sides based on field size.
