ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members who will be at least 65 years of age by June 7, 2021. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All participants are required to pay an entry fee of $195 which includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.  A completed, signed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received in the VSGA Office by Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

 

FORMAT

36-hole stroke play competition (18 holes per day). Players will compete in the following divisions and at the approximate total yardage listed (yardages are subject to change based on weather, course layout/conditions, etc.):

65 and over – 6,100-6,300 yards
70 and over – 5,800-6,000 yards
75 and over – 5,400-5,600 yards

Players that are eligible for multiple divisions may choose the division in which they would like to compete (e.g. A player that is 70 years of age may register for the 70 and over division or the 65 and over division, but not both).

Player rankings points will only be awarded to the 65 and over division.

 

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The field will be limited to 120 players. Priority acceptance is given to former Amateur, State Open, Mid-Amateur, Senior Open, Senior Amateur, Senior Stroke Play and Super-Senior Amateur Champions. The remainder of the field will be selected by lowest Handicap Index.

 

PRIZES

Trophies and gift certificates will be awarded to the overall champion in each division. In addition, gross prizes (based on number of entries) will be awarded in each division. Player rankings points will only be awarded to the 65 and over division.
