RDGA TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES for 2021: The RDGA is continuing to provide health and safety guidelines for players to follow when participating in RDGA Tournaments this year, based on New York State COVID-19 guidance as well as best practices being followed by leading golf organizations across the country. FORMAT: The RDGA Mid Amateur Championship features 36 holes of scratch stroke play competition over two days. Tee times begin at 11:00 am - both days off the first tee, paired in threesomes. Players will compete from the Shelridge Men's Black Tees (6,710 yards) at par-72, with prizes awarded to the top 1/4 of the field. Ties for first will result in a sudden death playoff to determine the champion.

 

ABOUT: Now in its 14th year, the RDGA Mid Amateur Championship is open to all male RDGA Members age 25 and over (as of the beginning of each year's tournament). Patterned after the USGA's Mid Amateur, the first RDGA Mid Amateur Championship was held in 2007 as a way to provide a formal competition for local post collegeiate-age amateurs, for whom the game is an avocation, rather than a stepping stone to a professional career. Lunch will be provided, free of charge, to contestants on both days.

 

The top 5 finishers (plus ties) will receive an exemption into the

2022 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial at the Country Club of Rochester.
