2021 WV 2-Person Championship Information
Eligibility: Entries are open to male and female amateur golfers with an active GHIN Handicap index through a WVGA Member Club. Both players must be "Regular Members" of the West Virginia Golf Association. Please Reference WVGA Policies and Procedures for further details.
Format: The championship is a 36-hole stroke play scramble with 18 holes played each day.
Divisions: Championship, Seniors, & Women
Field Size: The maximum field size is 100 players (50 Teams)
Practice Round: The designated practice round date is Friday, April 9th. Players are instructed to make tee times through the golf shop by calling 304-264-8886. Practice rounds on any other days other than the designated practice round will be up to the club, but players will be allocated only one practice round at the discounted rate of $40 plus tax.
Championship Yardage: Men - approx. 6,700 yards, Senior - approx. 6,200 yards, Women - approx. 5,400 yards
Player Registration: Details will be emailed to players after the Entry Deadline.
Raffle and Skins: There will be a $20 per team skins game and raffle (each team recieves two tickets) available each day at registration.
Cart Fees/Range Balls: Both are included in your team's entry fee.
Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the WVGA cart policy and their is an available seat. * WVGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *
Pairings: Pairings for Round 1 will be released and updated on the WVGA website by Tuesday April 6th. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by April 6th.
Awards / Gift Certificates: The champions in each division will receive trophies. Top finishers in each division will receive gift certificates.
POY Points: State Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top 5 teams in each division. Player of the Year points list will be updated online immediately following the completion of play.
Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.
USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.
Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the West Virginia Golf Association Office at 304-391-5000 no later than one week prior to the tournament. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $20 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player may receive a refund only if player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, and only if the West Virginia Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament. All refund request must be submitted in writing to Chris Slack.
Host Hotel: Stonewall Resort: Rate of $149++ for each night. Other hotels also available at the Weston exit 99 just a few miles north of Stonewall.
