Our club, Bear Creek Men’s Golf Club (BCMGC) is defined by members.  Our membership includes the AGA/USGA registration as well as organized events on weekly basis for members.  Part of this membership also includes the benefits of relationship between our organization and the host course at the Bear Creek Golf Complex and their staff and management.  There is an annual membership fee established by the volunteers that organize the events as well as interact with the hosting course.  This fee covers the annual AGA/USGA costs, various events as well as year-end events.  Our volunteers are not compensated for any services and we provide financial recaps to our membership.

 

Most of our membership is established via word of mouth.  Typically this is done by a current member inviting a non-member to play in a given event.  A person playing in an event that has not joined is considered a guest and sometimes cannot participate in the full rewards of a specific event they play in.  Likewise some events like the club championship are not open to guests.

 

Our policy in allowing a guest to participate is as follows:

  1. The guest must be sponsored by a member
  2. The guest will adhere to all rules of the course and membership
  3. A guest can only play once per calendar quarter
  4. Administration and enforcement of the policy is entirely at the BCMGC board's discretion

 

Guests are encouraged to play in an event.  It is an opportunity for the guest to experience the benefits of membership before a commitment is made to join BCMGC.  However a guest is limited to play once per calendar quarter.
