PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have an active GHIN number on file at a member golf club of the South Dakota Golf Association that offers the GHIN Service to all its members;  AND

At the time of registration for a championship, a player must have posted a minimum of five (5) 18-hole scores in the previous 12 months at the South Dakota golf club in which he/she lists on the tournament application where his/her GHIN number is active 

Championship & Rushmore divisions: ***NEW IN 2020***

CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION - Both players must be 55 years of age or older on the first day of the competition.  The Championship Division will play a longer set of tees (approx 6200-6500 yards)

RUSHMORE DIVISION- Both players must be 55 years of age or older on the first day of competition.   The Rushmore Division will play from a shorter set of tees than the Championship Division (Approx 5800-6100 yards).

104-team field will be selected as follows (if qualified applicant received by deadline): (A) Past SDGA Senior Two-Man champions since 2000; (B) Low 70 (and ties) teams by gross score from the previous years event  (C) Through an 18-hole four-ball stroke play qualifying round from the remaining pool of entrants held the day before the first competition round beginning at 8 a.m. If 104 teams have not registered by the Early Entry Deadline (Aug 11), then all teams entered on that date are exempt from any qualifying round. If total number of entries does not exceed 100, no qualifying round will be conducted. Entire field will compete at gross and championship will be flighted based on team combined handicap index. Overall champion will be team with lowest 36-hole score regardless of flight.

Day 1 - Four-Ball  @ Willow Run GC /  Day 2 - SDGA Chapman @ Elmwood GC

SDGA CHAPMAN FORMAT

• Both players hit a tee shot on each hole (Par 3’s, 4’s & 5’s). Partner's hit each other's ball for their second shot. For the third shot, a ball is selected by the team to be played for the remainder of the hole. If the second shot played by player A is chosen, player B will play the third shot. The team alternates shots until the ball is holed.
