Player Code of Conduct Policy
The Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship (the Silver Belle) takes great pride in our players and their representation of us. They have helped us to build an impeccable reputation within the golf community. Our reputation among players and golf courses alike is very important to the Silver Belle. The following is the policy the Silver Belle has adopted with regards to player misconduct and etiquette at our Championship. This policy is based on the guidelines established by the USGA in Rule 1 of the Rules of Golf.
Violations of Code of Conduct
Any of the following actions constitutes a violation of the Silver Belle Code of Conduct:
- Unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive language, cheating, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials or fellow competitors, or abuse of golf course property
- Not adhering to the dress code at the host golf course
- Vandalism at the host hotel
- Failure to treat host golf course with respect by ignoring the responsibility of caring for the course
- Physical abuse, threat of physical abuse, verbal abuse, slander or libel towards other players, parents, coaches, sponsors, host golf course staff or members, staff or volunteers in any medium
Required Dress at the Golf Course
- Women's shirts without a collar must have sleeves
- Women's shirts must not rise above the belt line at any time during the golf swing
Prohibited Dress at the Golf Course
- Tank tops, T-shirts
- Denim shorts, short-shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts, jeans, sweat pants, yoga pants
Proper attire is required at all times at the host golf course. Questionable attire will be reviewed by the Tournament Committee. Should a host golf course or resort have a stricter dress code, its policy will take precedence. Players in violation will not be allowed to tee off. All attendees must be in golf attire if they plan on using the practice facilities.
The following violation are always considered flagrant and as such, they will result in automatic disqualification in the current and future Championships:
- Cheating
- Lack of respect for volunteers or officials
- Damage to course or course property
- Throwing clubs
- Obscene, abusive or vulgar language
