QUALIFIER INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Prior to participating, all participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures and COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.
FORMAT:
Both Groups will play the 16-point game as outlined in the 2020 Scratch League Manual. The top two teams (one from each of the groups) will advance to the 2020 California Scratch League Championship at Sandpiper GC on December 4th, finalizing the 4-team field.
The November 5th current handicap index will be used to order lineups
GROUPINGS:
Seeds 1,4,5, and 8 will play in Group 1.
Seeds 2,3,6, and 7 will play in Group 2.
REGISTRATION:
All Team Captains must check-in at the SCGA tent outside the clubhouse.
STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:
- Starting times will range from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. Group 1 tee times will range from 8:00-9:10 and Group 2 tee times will range from 9:20-10:30.
- Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
TEES & YARDAGE:
- Play will be from the BLACK yardage. Course Rating: 73.8 / Slope: 133 / Approx. 6,994 yards / Par: 72.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Call Arroyo Trabuco GC (Michael Block) at (949) 305-5100 x 242 in advance of the date you wish to play. Membership rates apply.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the Championship.
- Range balls will be available on the range, compliments of Arroyo Trabuco GC and the SCGA.
- Players should arrive on site no earlier than one hour prior to their starting time and must limit driving range usage to 15 minutes.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The Restaurant will be available by 7 a.m. for to-go orders only.
- Major credit/debit cards and cash will be accepted for all purchases.
- It is highly recommended that you take snacks/drinks in your cart with you during the round. Arroyo Trabuco GC is a 'Links' styled course and you will NOT be near the clubhouse when you make the turn.
RULES OF PLAY:
- Players must familiarize themselves with the SCGA’s COVID-19 Guidelines for Competitions.
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players that will be emailed to players the day prior to the Championship.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Automotive transportation is available for all players in the event. Every player is granted a single-rider cart.
- Given single-rider cart restrictions due to COVID-19, each player will get their own cart and may strap their bags to the back of it.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Caddies are prohibited until further notice.
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club and must maintain social distancing at all times.
DRESS CODE:
- Players must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes.
- Shirts must be tucked in and hats must be worn forward.
- Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts, and tank tops are prohibited.
TIE-BREAKING:
In case of a tie between two teams at the end of the competition, the teams tied will select two players to play a sudden-death aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Play will be in one group of four using the 16-point game format. After completion of the first playoff hole, the highest point total of both teammates will determine who moves on. If still tied, all players will continue on to an additional sudden-death playoff hole(s).
In case of a tie between three teams at the end competition, the teams tied will select three players to play a sudden-death aggregate playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Play will be in three groups of three using the 9-point game format. After completion of the first playoff hole, the highest point total of all three teammates will determine who moves on. If all teams are still tied after the first playoff hole, all players from those teams will continue on to an additional sudden-death playoff hole(s). If two teams are still tied after the first playoff hole (or additional playoff holes), the teams tied will select two players to play the next playoff hole(s) using the 16-point game format.
