PACE OF PLAY PROCEDURE

Play should begin at 9:00am. (The Country Club at 8:30am)

Players should leave for assigned holes 15 minutes prior to shotgun start.

Marshals shall be used by each club. They are to monitor pace of play and, if necessary, issue warnings and penalties to a group who is severely out of position.

Keep up with the group in front of you. If you cannot see them half a hole in front of you, you are behind.

Take measures to speed up your pace of play. One complete hole behind and you may be assessed a warning for slow play. If you have not improved your pace of play within a reasonable time, the Marshal can issue a penalty of:

            Suspending play on that hole;

            Moving the group up to the proper position;

            And the teams split the points on that hole.

Tips on Ready Golf:

  1. Play as soon as it is safe to do so.
  2. First to the tee goes first.
  3. Let shorter hitters tee off first.
  4. Hit your ball before helping to search for one.
  5. Hit a Provisional ball if you think you are out of bounds or lost.
  6. Mark your card at the next tee.
  7. Get your yardages and club selection ready while others are hitting.
  8. Keep pre-shot routine short. Keep practice swings to a minimum. Preferably one.
  9. Be efficient on the green. Putt when ready. You can read and line your putts while others are putting without disturbing them.
  10. Picking up your ball IS permitted by the USGA handicap system. If you are out of the hole. This applies to Match Play and many forms of Stroke Play.
  11. Be helpful to others in your group. i.e. Raking, repairing divots, attending the flag.
  12.  When sharing a cart, use the Buddy System. Drop your partner off, then head to your ball. Your cart partner can then pick you up after you hit.
  13. Aim to play each shot in 20 seconds. From club selection, pre-shot routine to execution.
