120th BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship

Special Notice for the 120th BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship:

All Qualifying for 120th BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship has been canceled. Entered Exempt Players are guaranteed a spot for stroke play qualifying. All other players will be selected by lowest handicap indexes entered on the day of entry close, June 2. Any ties for the last spot in the field will be decided by lot. Non exempt players will not be charged a fee until selection to the field.

 

Championship Overview

 

Registration Fee: $135 per person for the championship. 

 

Format: 18-hole individual stroke play on the first day at Lancaster Country Club ONLY. Low 32 players continue to match play competition with two rounds scheduled on the second and third days. The Final will be 36 holes.

 

Eligibility: Open to male GAP Member Club golfers with a Handicap Index of 7.0 or less.

 

Field Size: The field is limited to 78 players will consist of the exempt players entered and the low handicap indexes entered. Please see above..


Practice Rounds: Practice rounds are not available this season.

Starting Times: Tee times begin at 7:30 am  off the 1st tee at LCC ONLY. Match play starting times begin at 7:30 am. 

 

Automotive Transportaton: All players are permitted to take single rider carts. GAP will pay facilities and bill players electronically through Golf Genius. If there is a Junior who is in the field and not of age, a parent/escort/chaperone is permitted to drive the cart. If carts are not permitted due to weather, then the event will continue as a walking event. A reminder, there will still be no caddies allowed. 

 

Spectators – Spectators will not be permitted; except that any player who requires assistance in transportation to the tournament site or who requires assistance in driving a golf cart during the competition is permitted to authorize one and not more than one person to spectate at the event or, if applicable, but only if such person is a member of the player’s immediate family and living in the same household as the player, to operate the player’s golf cart during the competition; provided that in all such circumstances such person may not provide any assistance to the player, may not indicate the line of play, may not handle the player’s clubs or equipment, and may not otherwise provide any services normally provided by a caddie. 

 

Prizes: Low gross for qualifying round, winner, runner-up, semi and quarter finalists.

 

Ties: Match play by sudden death. Playoff for qualifying positions on Tuesday Morning.
