2020 Men’s State Four-Ball Championship Information

 

 

Entry Fee: $450 ($466 credit or debit)

Registration Deadline: Friday, August 7, 2020

 

Eligibility: All Four-Ball participants must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. All participants in State Championships are required to have an active GHIN Handicap through a USGA Licensed Mississippi Club. All participants must also be bona fide residents of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the tournament.

 

Format: The tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of four-ball stroke play. If conditions necessitate the championship being shortened, it will be done at the conclusion of a stipulated round. This championship will be flighted following 36 holes of play. Ties are split by the USGA recommended scorecard method.

Practice Round: Practice rounds are available Sunday August 9th thru Thursday, August 13th at a rate of $50 + tax per player. Please contact Dancing Rabbit Club to schedule practice rounds.

 

Championship Divisions: This championship will be one division flighted after 36 holes of play.

 

Player Registration: Player Registration will take place from 10:00AM - 4:00PM on Thursday, August 13th outside of the golf shop.

 

Player Food & Beverage: There will be no Food & Beverage provided for this Championship. Players may make purchases in the grill using cash or credit.

 

Cart Fees: All cart and green fees are included in the tournament entry fee.

 

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted during this championship with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit. Final decision will be made by the MGA Staff and also the availability of carts at the host facility.

 

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the MGA cart policy and there is an available seat. * MGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *

 

Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Monday, August 10th. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Monday, August 10th.

 

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.

 

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.

 

Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the Mississippi Golf Association Office at 601-939-1131. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $25 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player WILL NOT receive a refund unless the player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, a signed Doctor's note is provided, and only if the Mississippi Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
