2020 Brothers Tournament

Please see information related to the 71st Brothers Championship on Friday, October 2 at Shannopin Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA. The starting tee will be hole #1. Additional information will be distributed after the close of entries and on the starting tee prior to the start of the competition.
Format: 18 Holes of Stroke Play, Chapman Format
Chapman or Pinehurst Stroke Play: In Chapman or Pinehurst stroke play, two players play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each playing his partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score, and play that ball alternately to complete the hole.
Provisional Balls: First stroke - Each contestant may hit a provisional ball for his ball which may be lost or out of bounds. All other strokes - During the alternate stroke portion of each hole, if a side elects to play a provisional ball, it shall be played by the partner of the player whose ball may be lost or out of bounds.
Tee Markers: The competition will be played from the Blue WPGA Tee Markers with a yardage of approximately 6,450 yards.
Practice: Practice rounds are available and are at the discretion of the golf shop, and only available after the close of entries. Practice rounds must be made in advance by contacting Shannopin CC at 412-761-6377, and are at the expense of the player. The professional is Eric Teasdale. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.
Prizes: A trophy will be awarded to the winning team in both the Gross and Net divisions. Prizes will consist of credits in the host club’s golf shop.
Transportation/Caddies: Golf carts are permitted and are included in your entry fee. Caddies are not permitted.
Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.
Footwear: Metal cleats are prohibited. The penalty is disqualification.
Playoff: In the event of a tie for the tournament, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Food: The WPGA provides coffee, juices, fruits and breakfast pastries and lunch for players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
