2020 Women’s Senior State Amateur Championship Information

 

 

Entry Fee: $150 ($156 credit or debit)

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020

 

Eligibility: This championship is open to female amateurs who have reached 50 years of age by the first round of the championship. Amateurs must be bona fide residents of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the championship. Competitors are required to have an active GHIN Handicap through a USGA Licensed Mississippi Club. All must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

 

Format: The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes of individual stroke play. If conditions necessitate the championship being shortened, it will be done at the conclusion of a stipulated round. Round 1 Starting Times will begin at 8:00AM off Hole #10. Round 2 Starting TImes will begin at 8:00AM off Hole #1. 

 

Practice Round: Practice rounds are available on Tuesday, September 8th after 12:00PM at a rate of $35 + tax per player. Please contact Grand Bear Golf Club to schedule practice rounds.

 

Championship Divisions: Senior (50+), Grand Lady (70+)

 

Player Registration: Player Registration will take place from 11:00AM - 4:00PM on Tuesday, September 8th outside of the golf shop.

 

Player Food & Beverage: Due to COVID19 there will not be a Player's Welcome Reception or Awards Luncheon due to the restrictions on Social Gathering and Social Distancing. Players will be provided a box lunch both days of competition. 

 

Cart Fees: All cart and green fees are included in the tournament entry fee.

 

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted during this championship with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit. Final decision will be made by the MGA Staff and also the availability of carts at the host facility.

 

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the MGA cart policy and there is an available seat. * MGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *

 

Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Thursday, September 3rd. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Thursday, September 3rd.

 

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.

 

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.

 

Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the Mississippi Golf Association Office at 601-939-1131. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $25 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player WILL NOT receive a refund unless the player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, a signed Doctor's note is provided, and only if the Mississippi Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
