3rd VSGA Parent-Child Championship

ELIGIBILITY

Open to male and female golfers of all ages. Parents are defined as anyone who is a parent, grandparent, step-parent, or guardian to their child. At least one participant of the team must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing but both players must meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All teams (two players) consisting of two VSGA members are required to pay an entry fee of $150. A team consisting of one VSGA member and one non-VSGA member are required to pay an entry fee of $180 (must call the office to do so). Entry fees include all course fees (including cart) for the day of competition and lunch. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club. A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received in the VSGA office by Monday, July 27, 2020.

 

FORMAT

18-hole, two-person captain's choice competition with an overall winner, age group winner, and age group runner-up prizes. Teams will be divided into age groups (see below), based on the youngest player's age. Players will be placed on a set of tees based on their own age.

 

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

The tournament will be a single tee start off of #1 beginning at 8:00 AM with the field being limited to 60 teams (120 players). If the number of entries exceeds the maximum allowable entrants, the field will be determined by first come first serve. Teams are divided into age groups based on the youngest player's age. Tentative age groups will consist of the following: 13 and under, 14-16, 17-19, 20-29, and 30 and over (age groups are subject to change based on field size)

 

PRIZES

There will be an overall winner, age group winner, and age group runner-up prizes.
