2020 RDGA Mid Amateur Championship

 

HOST: Clifton Springs Country Club

LOCATION: 2721 Town Line Road, Clifton Springs, NY 14432

DATE: Friday-Saturday, August 14-15, 2020

ELIGIBILITY: RDGA Members; men, ages 25 and above

START TIMES: Beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Round 1, Noon in Round 2 (both off No. 1)

ENTRY FEE: $175

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, August 7, 2020 (11:59 pm)

 

FORMAT: The RDGA Mid Amateur Championship features 36 holes of scratch stroke play competition over two days. Tee times in Round 1 begin at 8 a.m.; Round 2 at Noon - both days off the first tee, paired in threesomes. Players will compete from the RDGA Black Tees (The Clifton Springs Men's Blue Tees - approximately 6,465 yards), with prizes awarded to the top 1/4 of the field. Ties for first will result in a sudden death playoff to determine the champion.

 

ABOUT: Now in its 13th year, the RDGA Mid Amateur Championship is open to all male RDGA Members age 25 and over (as of the beginning of each year's tournament). Patterned after the USGA's Mid Amateur, the first RDGA Mid Amateur Championship was held in 2007 as a way to provide a formal competition for local post collegeiate-age amateurs, for whom the game is an avocation, rather than a stepping stone to a professional career. Lunch will be provided, free of charge, to contestants on both days.

 

The top 5 finishers (plus ties) will receive an exemption into the

2021 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial at Oak Hill Country Club.
