Practice Round

The official practice round day is Monday, July 20th. Times are available from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm only. Please email your practice round tee time requests to casey@clgolf.org.  DO NOT call the Colbert Hills Golf Course golf shop to arrange practice round starting times.

Championship Format

All championship contestants play in the first and second 18-hole rounds on July 21st and 22nd. After these 36 holes, the low 64 scores will be determined. If a tie exists for the 64th seed, a sudden-death playoff will be conducted on July 22nd and will begin 10 minutes after the final score is posted to the main scoreboard.  The starting tee for the playoff will be announced and posted to the main scoreboard.  All players subject to the playoff must be present at the playoff starting tee for the call of the roll. Any player not present will be eliminated from the playoff.  The match play bracket will be determined and seeded based on the player's 36-hole score with ties broken by scorecard return. Matches will be played over 18 holes, with the exception of the Championship match that will be played over 36 holes.

Golf Carts (Players & Spectators)

Practice Round - Golf cart is at the expense of the player for the practice round.  Cost is $20 per player.

Tournament Rounds - Golf cart is included as part of your entry fee for all championship proper rounds (July 21-26).  Only two carts are allowed per starting time during the stroke play qualifying rounds on July 21 and July 22.  Single rider carts will be used during the match play portion of the championship.  Only players will be allowed to ride on golf carts during the play of a hole.  Spectators may NOT ride on a player cart during the play of a hole.

Spectator Carts - Spectator carts will be limited during the championship.  Inquire with the host course golf shop staff about availability.

Caddies

Caddies will NOT be allowed during the championship due to COVID-19 restrictions. This decision was reached by Central Links Golf staff and Executive Committee to limit potential exposure to our players, staff, volunteers and host club staff.

Practice Facilities

The practice facilities (driving range) are for practice prior to your round only.  The practice facilities will open one hour prior to the first starting time each day.

Methods of Payment

Golf Carts – Golf carts are included as part of your tournament entry fee except for the practice round.  Practice round golf cart fee is $20 per player.

Food & Beverage – Players and spectators may purchase food and beverage in the clubhouse or snack bar window by the golf shop.  Cash or credit card are accepted.

Water/Hydration

Typically, Kansas Amateur week is a hot one.  Hydration is extremely important.  Players are strongly encouraged to make a personal water bottle part of your equipment for the week.  Bottled water will be available on the 1st and 10th starting tees.

Colbert Hills does not utilize on course water coolers.
Players and spectators need to plan accordingly for their beverage needs prior to the start of each round.  Bring a personal cooler or utilize a rental cooler from the Colbert Hills snack bar.

A beverage cart will be active during the championship.

Gift Certificates

Players that advance to match play will be awarded gift certificates redeemable for goods and services at Colbert Hills Golf Course.  This includes food and beverage in the restarurant.  Gift certificates for players that lose their match must be claimed prior to the completion of the championship.  Any gift certificate not claimed will be voided after the championship is completed.  High school players that are still enrolled in a Kansas high school sanctioned by the KSHSAA are not eligible to receive a gift certificate per the KSHSAA amateur status policy.
