VSGA Mid-Senior Amateur Championship

 

ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members who will be 60-64 years of age as of October 5, 2020. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. For additional information see the VSGA Championship and Tournament Eligibility Guidelines.

 

ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All participants are required to pay an entry fee of $250 which includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.  A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received in the VSGA Office by Monday, September 21, 2020.

 

FORMAT

 

Championship Proper

Day 1 – Stroke play qualifying (18 holes) with the low 8 players advance to match play.

Day 2 – Rounds One and Two of match play; Optional 18 hole stroke play competition for those who do not advance to match play

Day 3 – Final match

 

PRIZES

The champion and finalist will receive trophies and gift certificates. In addition, any player that qualifies for match play will receive a gift certificate. A VSGA medal will be awarded to the qualifying medalist(s). Gross and/or net prizes will be awarded to the low finishers in the stroke play competition on day two.

VSGA Super Senior Amateur Championship

 

ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members who will be at least 65 years of age by October 5, 2020. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. For additional information see the VSGA Championship and Tournament Eligibility Guidelines.

FORMAT

18-hole stroke play qualifying with the top eight players from each division advancing to match play. Players will compete in the following divisions and at the approximate total yardage listed (yardages are subject to change based on weather, course layout/conditions, etc.).

 

65 and over – 6,100-6,300 yards
70 and over – 5,800-6,000 yards
75 and over – 5,400-5,600 yards

Players that are eligible for multiple divisions may choose the division in which they would like to compete (e.g. A player that is 70 years of age may register for the 70 and over division or the 65 and over division, but not both).

 

VSGA Player Rankings points will only be awarded to the 65 and over division.
