2020 RDGA Junior Championships

 

HOST: Mendon Golf Club

LOCATION: 226 Mendon-Ionia Road, Mendon, NY 14506

DATE: Tuesday-Wednesday, July 14-15, 2020

ELIGIBILITY: RDGA Members; girls and boys, ages 7-18

START TIMES: Beginning at 7:30 am, varied, based on age group

ENTRY FEE: $35-$45 - plus required $20 annual RDGA Junior Membership

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Tuesday, July 7, 2020 (11:59 pm)

 

FORMAT: 

  • Scratch, Stroke Play

  • 2, 18 hole rounds (36 total) Boys Sub Junior 12-14

  • 2, 18 hole rounds (36 total) Boys Junior 15-18

  • 2, 18 hole rounds (36 total) Girls 12-18 

  • 2, 9 hole round option (18 total) for girls 12-14

  • 2, 9 hole rounds (18 total) for Pee Wee Boys and Girls ages 7-11

  • Open to all RDGA Jr Member Girls and Boys ages 7 through 18

 

DIVISIONS: 

    SIX individual championships - three each for girls and boys:

  •  Juniors (ages 15 to 18)

  •  Sub Juniors (12 to 14)

  •  Pee Wees (7 to 11)

 

WHAT'S AT STAKE: 

    BOYS: 

  • TOP 3 finishers in the 2020 RDGA Boys Junior Championship who reside in the Rochester District will receive exemptions into the RDGA District Championship John H Ryan Memorial at Brook-Lea Country Club on July 17-19. Junior Division Ages 15-18.

  • Winner of Junior Boys will receive a FREE Exemption into the Notah Begay III National Junior Golf Championship Regional Qualifier at Turning Stone August 31-September 1, 2020. (Must be between the ages of 14-18 to receive this exemption. The top finisher that meets the parameters will win the exemption.)

  • Winner of Junior Boys will receive an invitation to play in the 2021 North South Championships in Pinehurst, NC. Boys Junior Division Ages 15-18.

  • Winner Boys Junior receives a non-paid exemption for a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) for an open event in the calendar year of 2020.

   

    GIRLS: 

  • TOP finisher in the 2020 RDGA Girls Junior Championship who reside in the Rochester District will receive an exemption into the RDGA Women's District Championship.  18 Hole Junior Division Ages 12-18

  • Winner of Junior Girls will receive a FREE Exemption into the Notah Begay III National Junior Golf Championship Regional Qualifier at Turning Stone August 31-September 1, 2020. (Must be between the ages of 14-18 to receive this exemption. The top finisher that meets the parameters will win the exemption.)

  • Winner of Junior Girls will receive an invitation to play in the 2021 North South Championships in Pinehurst, NC Girls Junior Division Must be ages 15-18 at the time of the North South Championship.

  • Winner Girls Junior receives a non-paid exemption for a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) for an open event in the calendar year of 2020.

 

RANDOM PRIZES: 

  • All participants will have an equal opportunity to have their names pulled in random-draw style to recieve golf gear provided by IZZO, YOC, HJGT & RDGA.
