2020 RDGA Richard Wood Senior Best Ball

ELIGIBILITY: RDGA Members; men ages 55 and above and women ages 50 and above
START TIME: 9:00 a.m. off #1 tee only, every 10 minutes
ENTRY FEE: $190 / two-person team
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Thursday, July 2, 2020 (11:59 pm)
FORMAT: The annual RDGA Richard Wood Senior Best Ball features 18 holes of stroke play, with two person teams competing within flights in a best ball format. In the Men's competition, there are two divisions: one is a Championship Division, in which all teams will play at scratch (no handicaps), with the top-3 teams earning exemptions into the starting field for the 2020 RDGA District Championship John H. Ryan Jr. Memorial; the second is the Regular Division, in which participants will compete in a NET format based on 85 percent of their WHS course handicap. Women's teams will compete in two flights, Net and Gross, with winning teams and prizes to be determined in both. ALL handicaps will be taken from GHIN exactly one week prior to the event.
ABOUT: The RDGA Richard Wood Senior Best Ball began last year, in part as a way to offer casual competition for senior RDGA Members, as well as a tribute to the late Richard Wood, a past RDGA President and long-time volunteer who passed away due to cancer in 2013. The Wood Senior Best Ball is open to ALL amateur golfers - men, ages 55 and above; women, ages 50 and above - with an active WHS GHIN Handicap Index through a Rochester District Golf Association Member Club. If you've never played in an actual golf tournament before - or if you are a seasoned veteran - this is a fun way to enjoy the RDGA tournament experience!
PLEASE NOTE:
- All players on your team must have an RDGA TM player profile in order to register
- Both players on men's teams need to be age 55 by the date of the event (July 9)
- Both players on women's teams need to be age 50 by the date of the event (July 9)
