Championship to determine the top Women's Four-Ball team in Louisiana in 2020.
Field/Format: Limited to the first 96 team entries. All teams will play 36 holes of Four-Ball stroke play over two days (October 17-18). All teams will be pre-flighted based upon the October 1, 2020 World Handicap System revision. Course handicaps will be adjusted to a 95% handicap allowance. If members of a side course handicaps (after allowances) exceed a 6 stroke difference, the index of the higher handicapped partner will be reduced for the purpose of the competition.
Entry Deadline: October 12, 2020, 5PM CST.
Entry Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds: Entry fee of $350 per two person team, which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries (October 12, 2020). After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA offices by October 16, 2020. A $70 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Pairings and starting times will be emailed to each accepted entry on or about October 13, 2020.
Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA and The R&A) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2020 club and individual dues must be paid). Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. Dress Code, Cell Phones: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Use of cell phones, including those used as Electronic Measuring Devices, is prohibited on the course during the competition (The Committee reserves the right to disqualify acompetitor for a breach of the policy regarding cell phone usage; See USGA Rules of Golf Decision 33-7/8). Important Note: The Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at The Atchafalaya on October 16, 2020. Cart fee paid by LGA. Contact the golf shop at The Atchafalaya on or after October 12, 2020 to schedule a practice round. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted in The Atchafalaya Golf Shop, October 16, 2020. Pairings and starting times will also be emailed to participants on or about October 13, 2020 and posted on the LGA's website, www.LGAgolf.org.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top finishing team in the Overall Championship and the top finishing team in each flight.
Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
