FORMAT

The Championship is a 54-hole, stroke play event with the field limited to 96 contestants (46 eligible Professionals, 46 eligible Amateurs, the Defending Champion, and 3 Open Qualifier spots). There will be a cut to the low 40 players and ties after 36 holes.

Amateur Information

ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members of all ages with a Handicap Index of 12.0 or lower as of June 22nd. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEES/DEADLINES

Qualifying

Players competing in a qualifier are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $105 by Monday, June 22, 2020.  The qualifying fee includes the mandatory course fee owed to the host club – New for 2020. $75 of the qualifying fee is applied to the championship entry fee for successful qualifiers.  The VSGA will also negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host clubs.

Successful Qualifiers

Those who successfully qualify are required to pay the entry balance of $100 by July 10, 2020 which includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

Exempt Players

Exempt players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $175 by Monday, June 22, 2020. The entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

FORMAT

Qualifying

All non-exempt players must qualify to play in the championship. A player may only compete in one qualifier and each qualifier will be 18-holes of stroke play. The total number of participants at each qualifier will vary by site and will be filled by lowest Handicap Index as of June 22nd, 2020. The number of qualifying spots available at each qualifier will be determined based on participation and will be announced on-site.
