ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members of all ages with a Handicap Index of 12.0 or lower as of June 22nd. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEES/DEADLINES

Qualifying

Players competing in a qualifier are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $105 by Monday, June 22, 2020.  The qualifying fee includes the mandatory course fee owed to the host club – New for 2020. $75 of the qualifying fee is applied to the championship entry fee for successful qualifiers. The VSGA will also negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host clubs.

Last Chance Qualifier – There will be no last chance qualifier in 2020

Successful Qualifiers

Those who successfully qualify are required to pay the entry balance of $185 by July 24, 2020 which includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

Exempt Players

Exempt players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $260 by Monday, June 22, 2020. The entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.

FORMAT

Qualifying

All non-exempt players must qualify to play in the championship. A player may only compete in one qualifier and each qualifier will be 18-holes of stroke play. The total number of participants at each qualifier will vary by site and will be filled by lowest Handicap Index as of June 22nd, 2020. The number of qualifying spots available at each qualifier will be determined based on participation and will be announced on-site.

Championship Proper - 96 Players (includes all qualifiers and exempt players)

August 3-4 – Stroke play qualifying (18 holes per day); the low 32 players advance to match play

August 5 – Rounds One and Two of match play

August 6 – Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches

August 7 – 36-hole match play final

EXEMPTIONS

Players may refer to the VSGA Exemption Policy for 2020 Championships for a complete list of exemptions in this championship.

PRIZES

The Champion, Finalist and Semifinalists receive gift certificates and trophies. All match play qualifiers will receive a gift certificate. On-site qualifying medalist(s) will receive a VSGA medal.
