The North Carolina Junior Girls' Championship began in 1997 and is the state championship for junior girls. The championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, then cuts to the Top 32 for match play. There is only one division in this championship. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer, ages 12-18 as of June 14, 2019, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.
