Local Rules & Conditions of Competition
The Rules of Golf, Mass Golf Hard Card, and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf tournaments govern all play except as modified by the following local rules:
DUE TO WEATHER, TEE TIMES ARE DELAYED AND PLAY WILL COMMENCE AS AN 11:30 SHOTGUN
Scorecard: The Red Tail Golf Club scorecard is unofficial and has no status.
Tees: Mothers & Division 2 Sons (14 to 18 years old) will play from the Green tees at approximately 5,654 yards. Sons in Divisions 1 will play from the Gold tee markers at approximately 6,292 yards.
Distance-Measuring Devices: Permitted as specified in Mass Golf Championship Policies & Procedures.
Format: Division 1 & 2: 18-hole foursomes, selected drive alternate shots. Partners drive from their respective tees. 40% combined handicaps.
Out of Bounds: Defined by the inside edge at ground level of all white stakes***, white lines and fence posts.
Hole 1—fence on left Hole 10—right (white line)
Hole 2—fence on left
Red Penalty Areas: Defined by red lines. In the absence of a line, red stakes define the edge of the Penalty Area.
Hole 1—right (ESA) Hole 10—right (200 yards from green and in) (ESA)
Hole 6—left (ESA) Hole 18—right of green
Hole 9—right (ESA)
Note: Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESAs): ALL Penalty Areas except for Hole 18 are Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESAs). Play is PROHIBITED from these areas and players are PROHIBITED from entering the ESA’s
Immovable Obstructions: All cart paths, roads (paved or unpaved), roads (paved or unpaved), their immediate extensions/adjacent worn areas, and white lined areas tying into cart paths, are all considered obstructions. Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.
Ground Under Repair: Enclosed white lined areas defined GUR. Relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.
Integral Parts of the Golf Course: All stonewalls, and rock outcroppings are integral parts of the golf course, relief without penalty is NOT permitted.
Pace of Play: Pace for this round is 4 hours and 48 minutes. Please ensure that you are keeping within 16 minutes of the group in front of you and monitor your pace by the times printed on your scorecard.
Awards: Overall and Division Trophies engraved with names of gross winners. Prizes given to Division winners. Prize certificates to be used at host club. Ties in each division will be decided by a match of cards in accordance with USGA recommended method.
DECISIONS BY THE COMMITTEE IN ATTENDANCE ARE FINAL.
