87th Four-Ball Championship

Entry Fee:          $250.00 / team (includes lunch at qualifying). 
Entries Close:   Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 5:00 pm. 
Late entries will NOT be accepted.

 

The following teams are exempt from qualifying for the

87th NJSGA Four-Ball Championship, provided they submit their entry

prior to the closing date and meet all other eligibility criteria:

 

1. NJSGA Four‐Ball Champions 2016-2018.*

2. Teams reaching the semi‐final round of the 2018 NJSGA Four‐Ball Championship.*

3. Teams that qualified for the 2019 USGA Four-Ball Championship, BOTH players must meet all other eligibility requirements.

4. One representative team of the host club. **

 

*‐ Under criteria 1 and 2, a team which enters as “exempt” must include BOTH players who gained that exemption as a team in order to qualify for exemption status.

**‐ The host club shall determine a representative team to participate which will be verified by the NJSGA.

ELIGIBILITY: 
Entries open to teams of two male amateur golfers who meet ALL of the following: 

- Entrants must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status.

- Entrants meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:

• When combined, the team’s total USGA Handicap Index cannot exceed 14.0 or less, as of the April 1, 2019 Handicap Revision.
• Both players must be listed on the official GHIN Handicap roster at a NJSGA member club/course as of April 1, 2019. (To access a list of current NJSGA member clubs and courses, click here.)
• Both players must maintain good standing and remain on the above named GHIN Handicap Roster through the Championship proper.

- If entering from a public facility, or Club Without Real Estate, entrant must be a permanent resident of New Jersey. Proof of residency may be required.

 
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
Four-Ball, Stroke Play to Four-Ball Match Play. 30 teams of two players will comprise the Championship field which will include teams exempt from qualifying, plus those teams that advance from both qualifying sites (plus ties). One, 18-Hole, Stroke Play qualifying round will be played on Monday, May 6; the low 16 teams will advance to two days (four rounds) of Four-Ball Match Play on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 7 and 8. All matches 18 holes.

QUALIFYING ROUND FORMAT:
18-Holes, Four-Ball Stroke Play. Capacity at each qualifying site is limited; enter early. The number of teams (plus ties) that will qualify for the Championship at Rumson will be announced in advance of the first qualifying round. Qualifying site selections are listed below.

TRANSPORTATION:

Motorized transportation is PROHIBITED throughout this Championship.
Caddies: Permitted; a player may bring his own caddie – or where available, reserve a club caddie.
Pull/Push Carts: Refer to specific Player Information Sheet for host club’s policy.
 

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION OR MODIFY THE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM ANYTIME, IN ITS DISCRETION.
