New Local Rules in Effect

 

*Green Maps: Please note that a handful of the putting greens on the older CommonGround Golf Course U.S. Amateur green map books are not in compliance with the new 2019 standards for green mapping books. A new and verison is available for purchase in the pro shop before the qualifier. It is the player's ultimate responsibilty to ensure any green reading materials are comliant with the 2019 restrictions. CLICK HERE for a full explanation.

 

*Prohibiting Use of Audio and Video Devices: During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device (G-8).

 

*Replacement of Broken or Significantly Damaged Club: Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect. CLICK HERE for a full explanation.

Registration Opens: Available now. Qualifying is open to professional and amateur players.

 

Registration Closes: 5:00 PM EDT April 24, 2019

 

Entry Fee: $200.00

 

Amateur Handicap Index limit: 1.4

 

Field Size: Maximum of 84 players.

 

Distance Measuring Devices: Distance measuring devices of any kind are prohibited in all U.S. Open qualifiers.

 

Walking Only Event: The U.S. Open and its qualifiers are walking only events, players may carry their bag, use a pull cart, or have a caddie. Caddies may use a pull cart. Players may not ride in a motorized cart.

 

Format: 18 holes of stroke play

 

Qualifying Positions: 5

 

Alternate Positions: 2

 

Starting Time: 8:00 a.m. off holes #1 and #10 

 

Driving Range: The driving range will be made available by 6:30 a.m. at no additional charge to the player.

 

Practice Round Information: $48.00. Carts are $18.00 and the driving range is at the posted rate.

Player Food: Player food will be the responsibility of the player.

 

Score Posting: The CGA will post tournament scores for all Amateur players.

 

Official in Charge: An official in charge cannot set-up a golf course or officiate Rules if that person is also a participant at the qualifying site.

 

One Ball Rule: Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-4.

 

Clubs: Grooves - Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-3.

 

Footwear: It is a condition at all qualifying sites unless otherwise indicated by an asterisk on this entry application that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.
