VSGA Mid-Senior/Super Senior Amateur Championship

 

ELIGIBILITY

Open to VSGA members who will be at least 60 years of age on October 1, 2019. Participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA Member Club in good standing and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All participants are required to pay an entry fee of $250 which includes all course fees (including cart) and lunch for all rounds of competition.  In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.  A completed entry form, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received in the VSGA Office by Monday, September 23, 2019.

 

DIVISIONS

Mid-Senior - Ages 60-64

Super Senior - Ages 65-and-over

*The Super Senior Division will be seperated into three age groups; 65-69, 70-74 and 75-and-over.

 

 

FORMAT

Championship Proper

October 1 – Stroke play qualifying (18 holes) with the low 8 players advance to match play.

October 2 – Rounds One and Two of match play; Optional 18 hole stroke play competition for those who do not advance to match play

October 3– Final match

*The top eight players from the 65-69 age group advance to match play.  Either the top four or top eight players from the 70-74 and 75-and-over age groups will advance to match play, depending on the number of entries received in each age group.

 

PRIZES

The champion and finalist for the Mid-Senior as well as each Super Senior age group (65-69, 70-74 and 75-and-over) will receive trophies and gift certificates. In addition, any player that qualifies for match play will receive a gift certificate. A VSGA medal will be awarded to the qualifying medalist(s). Gross and/or net prizes will be awarded to the low finishers in the stroke play competition on day two.
