Format & Qualifying Positions All players will play 36-holes of stroke play qualifying. The number of qualifying spots will be posted once available. There will also be two (2) alternate positions available. In the event of any tie for the last qualifying place or any of the alternate positions, the players concerned shall compete in a sudden death play-off to begin immediately following the conclusion of the stipulated round.

Practice Round Information Practice rounds are available to players at posted rates by calling the Lakeside Golf Course at (859) 263-5315.

Caddies, Transportation and Push Carts A player may carry his own bag, use a push/pull cart or employ a caddie. There are no club caddies available at Lakeside Golf Course. Players and caddies must walk at all times during the stipulated round.

USGA Conditions of Competition Limitation on Golf Balls: The “One-Ball Rule” will be in effect. During an entire round, each ball at which the player makes a stroke must be the same brand and model as found in a single entry on the current List of Conforming Balls. “Groove & Punch Mark Specifications” Condition: In Local and Sectional Qualifying, as well as in the Championship proper, the player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010. The full Condition of Competition is available for review on the entry application. In making a stroke, the player must use clubs that conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Equipment Rules that took effect on 1 January 2010.

[Exception – Ping Eye2 Irons Manufactured before 31 March 1990: Ping Eye2 irons manufactured before 31 March 1990 with a groove spacing to groove width ratio of 2.3 to 1 are allowed for play under the Rules of Golf, even when this Local Rule is in effect. In using this Exception, the player is responsible for proving when the club was manufactured. If the player cannot do so, the club must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications that took effect on 1 January 2010.] Penalty For Making a Stroke with Club in Breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification. There is no penalty under this Local Rule for carrying but not making a stroke with a club which does not conform to these groove and punch mark specifications.
