SCGA MATCH PLAY QUALIFYING AND CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
12th SCGA MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP:
Omni La Costa Resort & Spa (Champions Course), Carlsbad

Tuesday thru Thursday, August 6 - 8, 2019
Tuesday, August 6th: Round of 32
Wednesday, August 7th: Round of 16 & Quarterfinals
Thursday, August 8th: Semifinals & Finals
QUALIFYING ROUNDS (18-holes stroke play):
Thursday, August 1: Brookside Golf Club (Course #1), Pasadena
Thursday, August 1: Twin Oaks Golf Course, San Marcos
ELIGIBILITY: (1) This championship is open to amateurs who are members of a current SCGA member club with a handicap index of 5.4 or less at the time of registration.
(2) A maximum of 24 exemptions will be granted from the exemption list below. A minimum of 8 Spots will be available in the championship through qualifying.
ENRIES OPEN: Wednesday, January 2, 2019
ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, July 21, 2019
PLAYER INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete Tournament Information which includes practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played will be emailed and posted on scga.org/matchplay after entries close.
ENTRY FEE: $120
REFUND POLICY: Full refund less $10 processing fee if requested prior to closing date. 50% refund after the closing date and 48 hours prior to the event. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
FORMAT: All non-exempt players will participate in an 18-hole stroke play qualifier. 32 players will participate in the single elimination match play championship. After the 32-player field is established: all players will be seeded based upon a combination of three ranking systems (1) The SCGA Points List, (2) The World Amateur Golf Rankings and (3) the Scratch Players World Amateur Rankings.
EXEMPTIONS:
All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship prior to the entry closing date. A maximum of 24 exemptions will be granted from the following list. Priority will be given to the events in the order in which they are listed.
