FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of individual stroke play for a number qualifying spots and alternate spots to be determined in the 2019 U.S. Senior Open Championship to be played June 27-30, 2019 at Warren Golf Course, Notre Dame, IN.

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call Green Island Country Club to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round fees are $30 plus tax and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride. Cash and credit cards will be accepted methods of payment in the golf shop.

Golf Facilities

Driving Range and practice areas open at 11:30

Shotgun Start at 1:00

Driving range will close at 2:30 but the short game and putting  green will remain open.

Please call the golf shop to sign up for the Monday shotgun start by lunch, Sunday May 12th

 

Food and Beverage Options

“The Turn” Halfway house will open at 11:30 and will have made to order sandwiches and beverages available. We will accept cash and credit in “The Turn”

The Green Island Beverage cart will be staged at the Golf Putting green from 11:30 to 1:00 with pre made food and beverage available.  “cash only”  The cart will roam the golf course from 1:00 until 5:00.

YARDAGES & TEES

Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. A yardage sheet is available at www.gsga.org through the event portal and at the club.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. each day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on May 8. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5974 or e-mailed to radams@gsga.org  

CARTS

Practice round fees are $30 plus tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $30 plus tax.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited at all USGA qualifying rounds.

CADDIES

A player may provide his own caddie. The player is solely responsible for making arrangements for a caddie. The player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship. 

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

The USGA Rules of Play, Pace of Play and Cart Policies shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

PREFERED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

FOOD SERVICE

Food and beverage items will be available in the clubhouse.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.
