SNGA Single Checkpoint Policy

At some SNGA events we will use a single checkpoint policy for monitoring and enforcing pace of play. Below is a detailed explanation of this policy.

Each group will be given a maximum allotted time to complete their round. That time will be located on their scorecards for players to reference. The single checkpoint will be located on the green of Hole #18 (Hole #9 in the event players start their round on Hole #10). Once the group completes the hole, the time of completion will be recorded by a staff member or official.

When a Group Makes Their Checkpoint:

A group clears the checkpoint by completing the 18th hole under the time they were allotted, AND/OR by finishing the 18th hole less than 15 minutes from when the group in front of them completed the 18th hole.

When a Group Misses Their Checkpoint:

A group misses their checkpoint when they complete the 18th hole over the maximum time they were allotted AND finishes 15 or more minutes behind the group in front of them.

Penalty Structure:

  • If a group completes the 18th hole over their allotted time AND 15-19 minutes behind the group in front of them - 1 stroke penalty for the group.
  • If a group completes the 18th hole over their allotted time AND 20-25 minutes behind the group in front of them - 2 stroke penalty for the group.

  • If a group completes the 18th hole more than 15 minutes over their allotted time AND more than 25 minutes behind the group in front of them, they may be subject to a disqualification penalty and forfeit their chance to win any points or purse for that event.

Repeat Offenders:

Any player(s) who miss checkpoints at multiple events will be subject to additonal review and possible suspension from SNGA events.
