FORMAT:
All players will compete over 18 holes of stroke play. Qualifiers will advance to the 33rd U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship which will be held at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, Arizona on September 14-19, 2019. The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
REGISTRATION:
There will be no formal registration at this event.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the tournament. Starting times for Round 1 will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m.
Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Players may arrange a practice round at their own expense. Please contact the golf shop at (949) 858-2770 to schedule a practice round. Green fees: $90 per player including cart. Practice rounds are based on a space-available basis in the afternoon after 2:00 p.m.
TEES AND YARDAGES
A variety of yardages will be used throughout this qualifier. Please refer to the yardage information section on the event portal for hole-by-hole yardage.
Course Rating: 75.4 / Slope: 137 / approximately 6,022 yards / Par 72.
DRIVING RANGE:
The Driving Range will be open by 6:30 a.m. on the day of the qualifier. Range balls will be provided compliments of the SCGA and Coto De Caza GC on the Driving Range.
FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:
The snack bar at the tennis court clubhouse will be the only food and beverage available during the qualifier (limited menu). The snack bar will open at 7:00 a.m. Major credit card will be accepted.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and the R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the USGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players addendum that will be distributed on-site.
- One Ball Rule: Model Local Rule G-4 is in effect. During an entire round, each ball at which the player makes a stroke must be the same brand and model as found in a single entry on the current List of Conforming Balls.
- Prohibiting Use of Motorized Transportation: Model Local Rule G-6 is in effect. During a round, a player or caddie must not ride on any form of motorized transportation except as authorized or later approved by the Committee. A player who will play, or has played, under penalty of stroke and distance is always authorized to ride on motorized transportation by a SCGA official.
- Allowing Replacement of Broken or Significantly Damaged Clubs: Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.
- Ball Played from Outside Relief Area When Taking Back-on-the-Line Relief: Model Local Rule E-12 is in effect.
- Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes: Model Local Rule G-7 is in effect.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:
Golf carts are prohibited during the qualifier. Pull or push carts are permitted only on the day of the qualifier.
Players are permitted to obtain a ride from a rules official when having to go back to play another ball under stroke and distance.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
Players may provide their own caddie (See section on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed in the section below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
DRESS CODE:
Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted. Shirts must be tucked in and hats are to be worn forward at all times.
CANCELLATIONS:
To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an USGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here, AND the USGA Championship Administration Department at (908) 234-2300.
