The Captain’s Putter Matches are an annual competition featuring top amateurs from the Virginia State Golf Association and the West Virginia Golf Association playing top amateurs from the Carolinas Golf Association (North and South Carolina). Each team features 14 regulars, eight seniors and two super seniors. The Captain's Putter Matches are invitation only and players are selected by Men's/Senior Men's Rankings.

Schedule of Events: Day 1: Four-Ball and Foursomes Matches.  Day 2: Singles Matches.

Winner: Each match is worth 1 point. Total of 48 points available. Carolinas needs 24 points to retain Captain's Putter. Virginias needs 24 1/2 points to win.

All-Time Record:  Carolinas leads 50-22-1 all-time in the series.
